Burj al-Arab

Dubai hosts some of the most incredible architecture in the world. Located on the Arabian Peninsula, Dubai is one of the seven emirates of United Arab Emirates UAE. My favorite architectural piece in Dubai is the Burj al-Arab. It is the tallest hotel in the world and the world's first seven star hotel. The hotel is located on an artificial island just off Jemeirah and is connected to the mainland a private bridge.

I first fell in love with this work of art after watching a segment on the Travel channel about the world's most prestigious hotels. Since then it has become one of the places I would love to visit in the future. The most interesting thing about the hotel is not its height but the architectural dimension of the structure. The hotel was constructed to resemble the sail of a boat, specifically a dhow-an Arabian Sea vessel.

Lubbok Outlook

"Art is unquestionably one of the purest and highest elements in human happiness. It trains the mind through the eye, and the eye through the mind. As the sun colors flowers, so does art color life."

John Lubbok, Sr.

Welcome to the Mirror Image, where Art is not just a subject but the essence of life.

Art and Human Behavior

It seems to me man is always looking for mare. When you watch TV or go to the movies, you see all these storylines of Robots being capable of human emotion. Take for instance IRobot or The Terminator, these movies are about the artificial intelligence and their capabilities. The need for there to be more to what can be created has vastly affected behavior. Yes, these things are of artistic genius but how far will it drive our behavior?
